Ian Gelder, the veteran British actor known for his role as Kevan Lannister in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” died Monday. He was 74.
The actor’s husband Ben Daniels announced the news on social media Tuesday, noting Gelder succumbed to bile duct cancer, with which he was diagnosed in December.
“It is with huge huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner Ian Gelder,” the post read. “He was my absolute rock and we’d been partners for more than 30 years.”
Gelder also appeared in series such as “Torchwood: Children of Earth” and “His Dark Materials” and films like “Surge” and “Pope Joan”.
